Kosovo or the Republic of Kosovo is an independent state that is still disputed territory. It is located between 41 deg and 44 deg N latitudes and 20 deg and 22 deg E longitudes. The land is spread over an area of 10,908 sq kms. It enjoys a continental type of climate. Islam is the predominant religion with approximately 90% of the people being Muslims. Christianity ranks next to Islam. The official languages are Albanian and Serbian. Pristina is the capital of Kosovo.
