Liberia or the Republic of Liberia is located on the western part of the continent of Africa. It shares its borders with Sierra Leone, Guinea and Cote d’Ivoire. It is spread over an area of 111,369 sq kms and has a population of approximately 3,476,608. Monrovia is the capital of the country. It has a hot equatorial type of climate. English is the official language of the land. A Presidential Republic, Liberia is divided into 15 counties which are further subdivided into districts and clans. It lies between 4 deg and 9 deg N Latitudes and 7 deg and 12 deg w longitudes. The Liberian dollar is the official currency. Christianity is the predominant religion of the land with most people being either Christians or followers of traditional indigenous religious beliefs.
