Regional or belonging to a particular region or area is a term used commonly in the discipline of Geography. It is used to describe the belongingness of a person or thing to a particular region. Each region is characterized by certain distinct similarities and thus, makes the task of marking the boundaries very easy. The common characteristic may vary greatly depending on the subject under consideration. The common thread may vary from physical attributes like climate and terrain to human elements like language, the people and culture. In physical Geography the distinct boundaries are clearly marked out however, this may not be so easy when human elements are involved. The branch of Geography namely, Regional Geography, is dedicated to the study of different regions and their specific attributes.
