The Republic of Namibia is located on the southern part of the continent of Africa. It lies between 17 deg and 29 deg S latitudes and 11 deg and 26 deg E longitudes. The country has common borders with Angola, Botswana, Zambia and South Africa. It is spread over an area of 825,418 sq kms. It has a population of approximately 2.1 million. A multi-party parliamentary democracy, Namibia is divided into 13 different regions which are further subdivided into 107 different constituencies. Windhoek is the capital of Namibia. English is the official language of the land. Christianity is the predominant religion of the land with approximately 90% of the people being Christians. Namibia is a hotspot on the tourism map of the world and plays the perfect host to thousands of tourists each year. The tourism industry is a major contributor to the economy of the nation.
