China Business & Economy Directory

According to The World Bank, as of March 2015, China has become the world’s second largest economy. It has been stated that the GDP growth in a year, has lifted more than 500 million Chinese people out of poverty. However, according to The Washington Post, as of August 2015, there is a slump in the Chinese economy. This has led to inflation and global economic slowdown as well. Though the Chinese government has a growth target of 7% in 2015, the Chinese economic slowdown is estimated to be 282%. The China’s industrial sector is performing badly. China’s debt to GDP ratio is estimated to be $28 trillion, which has been quadrupled since 2007. Adding to this, China’s central bank has cut its key lending rate by 0.25% points to 4.6%, which is the fifth interest cut rate in 2015. China’s currency, renminbi, fell against US dollar, which also jolted the currencies of countries like Australia that depend on Chinese market for exports. However, some of the investors feel that this economic slump is not that bad and China will provide an unprecedented opportunity for investors over the long-term. In order to overcome the challenge, the Chinese government should continue the micro-level reforms. China must deploy new technologies in various industries, should strive to improve workers’ education, training, and health. The government should take efforts to accelerate domestic consumption, ways where citizens and stakeholders get profit through government, reduce administrative discretion, etc. With respect to the macro-level reform, China should reallocate resources and responsibilities to various levels of government. This will help capitalizing on comparative advantage in improving the revenue and providing services. The country should also take measures to decrease its global debt load. These reforms will help China and countries around the globe from economic slowdown. Browse our China Business Web Directory and find websites related to China Business and Economy:
